One of the big things that Triple H has been working on since taking over as COO of the WWE is developing younger stars and the new WWE Performance Center is the tool for doing so. According to prowrestling.com on Oct. 31, that is why veteran free agents like Matt Morgan remain unsigned.
Morgan left TNA Impact Wrestling, and it seemed like just a matter of time before he made his return to the WWE. However, he remains unsigned and there doesn’t look to be a possibility that the WWE will bring him back. It seems the well has run dry for established stars in the WWE, which might be why Mr. Anderson signed a new deal for much less than he could have received in the WWE in the past.
Triple H and the WWE seem to be set on finding the stars of the future, which is always a good thing. With names like Daniel Bryan, Antonio Cesaro, The Shield and many more waiting in the wings, the WWE seems to be set for many years to come.
Triple H was asked about Matt Morgan, a 7-foot athletic giant with decent charisma, and he simply responded that they spent millions on their Performance Center, and now their focus is on developing young talent and not spending money on older guys. Morgan is 37 years old.
The lack of interest in Matt Morgan by the WWE might explain why he has softened his stance on TNA Impact Wrestling in recent weeks during interviews.
