Halloween comes alive at the biggest event of the season. The Lafayette hotel plays host to the annual Witches Ball that happen Halloween Night in Buffalo NY Oct 31 starting at 5pm. In 2012 it was the first ever event to be Hosted the new renovated historical hotel Lafayette. The event includes
The theme of this year’s event is “Haute Macabre: from Glam to Ghoul,” and kicks off at 5pm with 200 zombies leading a zombie walk from City Hall to the hotel. From there guests will be treated to a Shining-esque experience in the main lobby – order a drink from Lloyd himself – before exploring the dark art exhibits lining the hallways (artists include Max Collins, Chris Galley, Pamm Collins, Michael Mararian, Paul Massaro and Mark Madden).
The Witches Ball is working with members of Terror Technologies and Frightworld: America’s Screampark in order to bring classic no-nonsense thrills and chills to the city. If you’ve been looking for a downtown Halloween night masquerade with fantastic mystery and mayhem, The Witches Ball is coming to downtown Buffalo, NY.

Here is a sneak peak at some of the event activities
Join our ghastly scream team as they deliver decaying goods from the infamous Greg Hinaman (Terror Technologies and founder of The Vampire Ball). Attend the wedding ceremony of Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein – bride’s dress by Ali Eagan (Anatomy), rings by John Harris (JPHii Design), wedding cake by Butterwood Sweet and Savory and flower bouquet by Woyshner’s. Witness a steampunk fashion show, get kissed by a vampire and win a prize for the most blood curdling scream! Meet the Marquis de Lafayette himself along with supernatural historian Mason Winfield and puppeterror Franklin LaVoie. There will be tarot card readers, fortune tellers and even two zombie belly dance troupes. Plus an appearance by The Stripteasers.
Expect a Frightworld hearse and a zombie response vehicle called The Death Truck full of the walking dead! Following that, there will be a Frightworld fashion show in Cafe Macabre, and then a performance of the Science of Ca’Dio from JPHii Design.
For your listening pleasure you can head to the Grande Ballroom where DJ Cutler, The Ifs and Irving Klaws will be unleashing sounds from beyond. Catch Dan Harper and The Magic Show at Pan Am, where they will be unveiling the first beers to be brewed in the building. Magic Hat beer will also be in the house, as will Hob Nob red wine.
Black Out Dracula will transform the legendary text of Bram Stoker’s Dracula through a collaborative erasure-style composition process. Free to all that dare to rewrite this original. Black Sharpies will be provided. Bring your creativity – Just Buffalo Literary Center
