Have you jumped on the raw juice bandwagon yet? If you are looking for health improvement this is a great way to increase your fruit and vegetables consumption and in turn, trend in a healthier direction.
According to RawJuiceGuru.com, “Raw Juicing not only eliminates the need for munching and chewing high quantities of greens and vegetables, it also minimizes the body’s digestive effort, since nutrients are absorbed into blood stream within minutes. Juicing breaks done fibers in the vegetables, making it easier to absorb all the nutrients… it heals, it nourishes and regenerates your whole body.”
This guru goes on to talk about live enzymes being “the catalyst for every human function” and how these enzymes do not survive being cooked above 118 degrees. Raw juice is a great source of live enzymes.
If you like experimenting, it is interesting to mix greens such as kale leaves (a super food) with naturally sweet fruit like grapes and/or strawberries. Although the kale’s green color might overpower the drink, the fruit offsets its taste gifting a delicious refreshment. It is a smart way to consume your vegies if you are not a fan of greens like kale and spinach.

Store bought juice
Raw juice tastes much different from store bought processed juice. When you make it at home, the consistency is different (kind of frothy) and the taste is much more fresh. You’ll be happy with your efforts.
1. Decide what to add
The colors of fresh fruit and vegetables are tantalizing. The richer the colors the more health benefits. You can create your own rainbow of nutrients with your choice of ingredients.
2. Get to work
After you have decided on your choice fruits and/or vegetables, wash everything and get peeling. You have to remove any pits and thick peels (like orange peels).
3. Prep the Juicer
There are many types of juicers but with common features. Prep your juicer and make sure it is properly put together, then turn it on and fill the hopper with yummy natural fruits and/or veggies.
4. Sweet nectar flows
Depending on your taste bud’s preference, your juice will take on different colors. Some people will stay in a similar family of hues. For example, mixing strawberries, purple grapes, red apples etc., together for a nice red drink.
5. Take your time
It is easier to prepare all of the fruits and vegetables prior to turning on the juicer but regardless, take your time. Do not try to over pack or rush the juicer. Sometimes adding a little water can help it flow better too.
Really, can you think of a better way to take in the sweet nectar of nature and start your day? Color your life both inside and out; raw juice is a great way to start!
