Every couple has a wedding budget and believe it or not most couples will go over it by at least 15 to 20%. They don’t realize the cost of a wedding, that every single detail matters, and it all adds up.
Here are a few wedding budget saving tips, hope it helps.
DIY Wedding Invitation
DIY wedding invitations. You can go to any Michaels or Hobby Lobby and purchase a wedding invitation kit and design and print them at home. Or you can purchase your invites online. They are pre-designed but you can change the font style, color and design to suit your theme.
Ceremony and Reception At Same Location
You can save money by having both your ceremony and reception at the same location. Choose a weekday or a Sunday. There is less demand for these days so you are more likely to get better rates.
Discount Wedding Dresses
Look for trunk shows. Bridal shops usually have them a few times a year and give discounts. Check out sample sales and online wedding shops. They usually have really good deals.
Real Touch Wedding Bouquets
Real touch flowers look just like the real thing. They are a perfect alternate to real flowers. They’re also much cheaper and will serve as a memento for you and your bridesmaids.
Order A Simple Wedding Cake
When ordering your wedding cake, keep it simple. Add your color scheme with ribbons around the border or add a few flowers. Fondant icing is much more expensive, stick with buttercream. By the way, you don’t need a huge wedding cake.
Don’t Overdo Your Catering
Check with your venue to see if you can bring your own food and drinks. If using a caterer, be honest with your caterer and let them know that you do not want to go over your budget. Choose less expensive entrees and consider a dry wedding (no alcohol).
Use real touch flowers or you can purchase silk kissing balls and place them on platters. If you want to use the real thing, make sure to use flowers in season. Alternate between tall and short centerpieces on the reception tables.
Use The Venues’ Decor
Use your venue’s décor. Many facilities come beautifully decorated, including their tables and chairs. Take advantage of this and add your color scheme to the tablescape with your centerpieces and favors.
Shop Around For Photographers
There are tons of photographers out there. It seems that there are more photographers than any other vendors. Shop around, call and ask questions, negotiate, and ask for a disc of images instead of an album.
Attend Bridal Shows
Bridal shows are amazing. There you will find vendors for all your wedding needs. They usually have raffles going on and tons of discounts and promotions. Enjoy all the free samples and goodies.
