It doesn’t get any better than playing for a district title.
It’s always a team’s first goal they set every season and add playing for a district title the last week of the regular season, which also adds to the excitement and intrigue.
It seems that some teams play for their district titles on a yearly basis and some teams are playing for the first district title in years.
“We are very excited,” Boyd Buchanan head coach Grant Reynolds said. “Playing for District Championships never gets old and Week 10 adds to the excitement.”
Boyd (3-6) hosts Silverdale (9-0) for the district 5-A title and that contest will be one of 18 games that will decide district champions and provide playoff seeding as the playoffs will be announced on Saturday morning.
“Its very exciting,” Huntingdon head coach Eric Swenson said. “Kind of a great climax to the end of the regular season and hopefully a chance to gain some momentum and a good seed going into the playoffs.”
The Mustangs will play in their fifth straight district title game as they travel to Dresden for the 13-A title.
