One of the hottest trends for winter coats this season is going to be the double breasted jacket. It’s a lot shorter in length than the traditional double breasted coat but still equally as chic with its form fitting and feminine cut. The double breasted jacket is a new take on an old trend but it’s one that always seems fashionable and on point and will carry you through the colder months of fall and straight into winter.
Don’t be afraid to get matchy matchy when wearing a double breasted jacket. A black on black combo always looks sharp especially with a hidden pop of color like in your scarf or a printed top. Don’t think that just because this trend is borrowed from the men in our lives doesn’t mean it has to look exactly like the same. Change up the double breasted jacket with an nontraditional Chinese collar instead of lapels. Give it an extra twist and wear one in a fun color like pink, which is a hot color in jackets and coats this season.
Want a double breasted jacket that’s ultra feminine? Opt for one made into a peplum cut. Prefer something more traditional? Choose one that has a checked print on it instead of an all black. The look is still modern without being stuffy. Don’t forger that military inspiration is a big trend this season also so why not go for a military inspired double breasted jacket? The look is an edgy tough girl chic look which is a great counterpart when worn with something extremely girly like a skater skirt.
Which ever style or color you decide to go with when purchasing a double breasted blazer just remember to take in consideration that it’s outerwear so make sure that you don’t get one that’s too fitted therefore making it unable to button or pinches you in all the wrong places. A double breasted jackets should be form fitting not ill fitting.
