Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus – World Title Match – Wrestlemania 28
This match may seem like a very odd addition to this list but it was easily the biggest match of Daniel Bryan’s career at the time with the World title around his waist on his first Wrestlemania. Yet when it ended in a devastating 18 seconds with Bryan getting booted out of his championship, it seemed like his burgandy fire would cool and he would go back down the card. In reality, the opposite happened the next night on RAW in Miami where many fans who attended Wrestlemania the night before were in attendance and started the epic “YES!” chant for the first time to show they wanted to see Daniel Bryan to get his spotlight. The element of ‘YES!’ help propel Bryan into a first WWE title feud with CM Punk later in 2012 and showed that he was more than just an internet darling but a superstar who could connect with the masses in a audible way. So in losing the World title at Wrestlemania, he won much more in the future.
Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan – 2 out of 3 Falls World Title Match – Extreme Rules 2012
Coming after his 18 second World title loss to Sheamus at Wrestlemania 28, Daniel Bryan stormed into this 2-out-of-3 Falls title match with a purpose. The anger of Bryan was on full display as he went the distance with the Celtic Warrior with his lethal kicks and relentless aerial offense. It was yet another loss for DB but a performance that many fans in Chicago’s Allstate Arena believed stole the show even with Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena match later that night.
The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan – U.S. Championship Match – Night of Champions 2010
Another match on this countdown that took place in front the wrestling-crazed fans of Chicago saw not-so-crazy Daniel Bryan in 2010 show off his unbounded talents against the man who disapproved his straight laced personality on NXT, the Miz. Though the Miz was his pro mentor on NXT, he never believed in Bryan and even mocked him until the young superstar shocked loudmouth Miz in a non-title match on RAW. This set the stage for Night of Champions 2010 where even the outside interference of Miz’s crony Alex Riley proved futile and Bryan’s lion-sized heart proved superior in his first title win in WWE.
Team Hello No & The Undertaker vs. The Shield – WWE RAW
Daniel Bryan and Kane had a hot run as the odd couple psycho-therapy duo known as Team Hell No. They produced some funny segments on RAW, dominated the revived tag team division as WWE Tag Team champs, and were victorious at Wrestlemania 29. So in their final months of their pairing, Bryan joined Kane in aiding his brother, The Undertaker in a 6 Man Tag match against the dangerous trio known as the Shield. This bout was a rare RAW fight for the Deadman with a special feeling in front of a rabid audience of UK fans in London. If you are on the same team as the Brothers of Destruction, you are bound for great things.
