With September right around the corner, there are plenty of activities to take advantage of in Scottsdale before the end of the month. Changing art exhibits, nighttime tours, volunteer opportunities and pool party planning is enough to keep anyone busy during the final week of August. Check out some activities to do for these last couple days of August.
Visit the Botanical Garden
The Desert Botanical Garden’s flashlight tour ends on August 31. The tour goes from 7 to 9 p.m. and is a family friendly activity where visitors to the Desert Botanical Gardens get to experience the desert at night. The two hour long tour is self-paced and goes along the main trail. Along with experiencing the night and the garden, there are a number of different discovery stations along the way to provide education and information on the sights and sounds of the desert.
Guest are required to bring their own flashlight, unless they don’t have one and would like to purchase one at the Garden Shop beforehand (the Garden Shop will be closing at 9 p.m. so be sure to purchase one before then). The price of the flashlight tour is included with general admission to the park, or with Garden Membership.

They are hosing their new volunteer team member recruitment event on Saturday Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Anyone who is interested in applying for a volunteer position is urged to come out to the event, and while a background in music isn’t required they do recommend that you have an interest in music.
