The last round one show of the Orlandobands.com/Evermore Sound Evermore Battle of the Bands takes place Tuesday, October 1 at The Haven in Orlando. Round two starts on Tuesday, October 8 and the round one semi-final show is scheduled for Friday, October 25 also at The Haven.
Chaddy Boom is looking forward to the show and the exposure to new fans for their music.“The thing I am looking forward to most with this show is for people to see who Chaddy Boom is, to give them a show of non stop performance. We cannot wait to experience it with new potential fans.”
“We are a pretty new band, so I think what we are looking forward to most is the opportunity to try and get our name and stuff out there,” said the members of Reepicheep. “We are just so excited to play and anxious to hear what we can improve upon.”
The sponsors of this year’s Evermore Battle of the Bands are Evermore Sound, Orlandobands.com, Capacity Productions, Freedom Union Records, Classic Cases, InEarz Audio, Rejuven-Ink, Spawn Guitars, Left Digital Media, Goin Balistic!, 101.1 WJRR’s Native Noise with Supa Dave and The Orlando Local Music Examiner. Chaddy Boom is impressed with the influence Orlandobands.com has had on the local music scene, “it is something Orlando needs. The influence is great. Ben Gardner really believes in local music and is really genuine and puts in the work to help you be as successful as you want to be. He gives you the tools and opportunity to be successful and is completely selfless about it. There is great influence; it gives local bands opportunities without having to worry about being screwed over.”
The $25,000 in prizes includes a custom built guitar and various recording packages. The bands will be judged on several categories including musicianship, songwriting, originality, crowd reaction, stage presence and professionalism, as well as promotion and networking.
The Evermore Battle of the Bands is at The Haven, 6700 Aloma Ave. in Winter Park/Orlando. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. with the first band. Tickets are $5 in advance from the bands. (Their pre-sale tickets count as part of their score.) Tickets will be $8 at the door for this 18+ event. Just as the past battles, they will be collecting donations for charity. The money collected this year will go to the Southeast Lung Transplant Fund, helping to support HelpHOPELive.
