The “Breaking Bad” finale aired Sunday night, and fans were dying to see just how it would all end. Did Walter White die in the Sept. 29 finale? Did the final episode give fans what they wanted?
Walter White had a plan, and he meticulously executed it. He stole a car and managed to find out where Gretchen and Elliott lived. He pressured them to agree to take his remaining money and put it in a trust to pass on to Walter Jr. They were afraid, but Walt convinced them he had hit men watching them to make sure they followed through.
White managed to catch up to Lydia and Todd meeting in a coffee shop. He told them he had a deal for them, as he knew they would be running low on supplies and he had a new method that would work better. Though Lydia blew him off, he got what he wanted out of the meeting: he had secretly slipped the ricin into her stevia.
Next Walt went to visit Skyler one last time. He gave her the lotto ticket and told her to exchange the ticket for a deal with prosecutors. She cried as he explained it had the GPS coordinates detailing where Gomez and Hank were buried. Walter then saw Holly one last time as she slept in her crib, and Walter Jr. one last time from afar.
Walt managed to get into Uncle Jack’s compound, and he had learned that Jesse was still with them and cooking. He managed to get Jack to bring Jesse into the room, then he tackled him. As he kept Jesse on the ground, Walt hit the trunk key to the car he’d stolen to have the lid pop open and a machine gun he’d rigged start blasting away at the building.
When all was said and done, everybody except Todd, Jack, Jesse and Walt was dead. Jesse then killed Todd by strangling him with his handcuff chain. Jack tried to talk Walt out of killing him by teasing him with the money, but Walt shot him. Jesse held the gun on Walt, then saw he was bleeding from one of the bullets. Jesse refused to kill Walt, who said he wanted it, and moments later Jesse high-tailed it out of the area with his freedom.
Lydia called to see if Walt had been taken care of, and Walt filled her in on the status of things. He also told her he’d poisoned her with the ricin. Moments later Walt collapsed from the gun shot as the cops pulled in to the compound. As many anticipated, Walter White died at the end of the “Breaking Bad” finale.
So far online people seem highly satisfied with the ending, just as Bryan Cranston and showrunners had promised they would. What did you think of the “Breaking Bad” finale? Was seeing Walter White die the right way to end the show?
