Café Jerusalem King David’s Espresso is perfectly-roasted coffee for those of you who like a strong and satisfying cup of espresso or Turkish coffee. No bitter aftertaste, only full-bodied, well-rounded flavor. 100% star-k, kosher coffee.
But did you know that you can also cook with it? Espresso rubs partner well with strong flavored cuts of meats, such as beef or pork. The espresso adds a smoky flavor and a nicely colored crust to the surface of the food. Espresso rubs are most often applied to grilled meats.
Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Espresso Rub
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground Café Jerusalem King David’s Espresso
1 1/2 tablespoons kosher salt
3 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Combine all of the dry ingredients and mix well.
- Rub pork tenderloin with olive oil and coat well with Espresso Rub. Let marinate for a few hours.
- Grill over high heat, turning frequently, until cooked through. Let rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Slice and serve!
- The flavors of the espresso and spices combined with the smokiness of the grill are a match made in heaven.
The slight bitterness from the freshly ground espresso is balanced out from the sweetness of the brown sugar.
