For many, Disney World may not be a place that’s known for its food. Most people think of the rides, the entertainment, and typical “theme park” food – items like hamburgers, chicken fingers, and popcorn. However, Disney World is home to a wide variety of great restaurants. You can try all sorts of cuisines and get some truly gourmet meals there. Here are just some of the best items I’ve tried while visiting restaurants in Disney World.
Lobster at Narcoossees
One of Disney’s signature restaurants, Narcoosees is located at the Grand Floridian. This lobster entree was incredible – and the pasta side dish it came with was almost as good!
Earl of Sandwich
It’s not gourmet, but you can’t go wrong with a good sandwich, and Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney makes the best ones. Pictured here is my personal favorite, the Full Montagu, but I’ve never met a sandwich at Earl that I didn’t like!
Ohana at the Polynesian
Ohana is a family focused restaurant at Disney’s Polynesian resort. The meal is one price and then various courses are brought around to your table. The food seems to be never ending, with bread, wings, noodles, vegetables, all kinds of meats, and bread pudding for dessert!
Shrimp and Scallops at Be Our Guest
Disney’s newest restaurant is Be Our Guest, located in New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. A reservation is hard to score but totally worth it. The restaurant is stunning inside, and the food is just as good. This dish, shrimp and scallops in a puff pastry with lobster sauce, was one of the best things I’ve eaten in Disney!
Malaysian Seafood Curry at Yak and Yeti
To Disney fans, Animal Kingdom isn’t known for having great restaurants. But Yak and Yeti has some very good offerings, especially if you are interested in Asian cuisine. This seafood curry had the perfect amount of spiciness and was full of flavor.
Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Animal Kingdom Lodge has three great restaurants for the more adventurous eaters willing to try some African cuisine. Boma is the buffet, so if you want a little taste of everything be sure to eat here. There’s tons to choose from, but the highlights for me were the soups and the desserts!
Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge
The signature restaurant at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jiko blew us away. The scallops were incredible, and so was everything else we tried. Plus, the service was excellent – they even brought us an extra dessert to celebrate our anniversary!
