Ultra-sophisticated small luxury cruise operator Silversea Cruises is giving passengers the chance to see the world with expanded itineraries scheduled for 2015. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based company announced its exciting itineraries today (September 30) in a press release sent to this Examiner which pointed out that its eight vessel fleet will make 276 voyages that will stop at than 700 destinations (including 71 that are brand new) on seven continents.
Different destinations on the horizon
Silversea’s five ocean-going luxury liners will visit 21 new ports of call. In the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions, they will make premier stops in Huelva, San Antonio (Ibiza), and Alcúdia (Mallorca), Spain; Rethymnon (Crete) and Igoumenitsa, Greece; Santa Maria di Leuca, Italy; and Amasra, Turkey. In Asia and the Pacific, new ports include Haikou, China; Hambantota, Sri Lanka; Bintulu, Malaysia; Savusavu, Fiji; Lifou Island, New Caledonia; and the Philippines’ Bohol Island, Boracay Island, Busuanga Island, and Hundred Islands. Africa and the Indian Ocean offer inaugural visits to Luanda, Angola and Mahajanga, Madagascar. And in the Americas, first-time calls include Norfolk, Virginia; Morehead City, North Carolina; and Falmouth, Jamaica.
Extra expedition destinations
The company’s explorer vessels will add 50 new destinations with Silver Discoverer venturing into Micronesia, Melanesia, Polynesia, the Russian Far East, Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia, including its magnificent Kimberley Coast. She will also do such new destinations, sas the remote Phoenix Islands Protected Area in Kiribati, which includes Nikumaroro, the island some believe to be the final resting place of famed aviator Amelia Earhart.
The Silver Explorer, will head to and through Antarctica, South and Central America, the British Isles, Northern Canada, Greenland, and Arctic Norway stopping at new destinations as the Congo’s Pointe Noire, renowned for its beautiful beaches and the spectacular red rock cliffs at Diosso Gorge.
The Silver Galapagos will make year-round voyages exploring the amazing Galápagos Islands. There will also be an epic 115-day World Cruise 2015 on January 5, 2015 aboard Silver Whisper that will loop around the world to five continents, 30 countries, and 50 unique destinations. The cruise will go to such areas as South Pacific, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, the Seychelles, Africa, and the Caribbean, before concluding in Fort Lauderdale. Complementing the global sailing will be 21 voyages to exotic spots such in Asia, Africa and India, including four voyages with extended stopovers in Myanmar (offered aboard Silver Wind and Silver Shadow collectively).
