An area of scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop early this afternoon around the I-70 corridor. Expect the threat for rain to last through the late afternoon hours before the cold front responsible for the storms drops south of Columbus. Unfortunately the “cold” front will be nothing more than a wind shift and small drop in the humidity. Summer will still have its hold on Ohio for the next several days!
Highs on Thursday will shoot up into the upper 80s once again with humid conditions prevailing. That small drop in humidity referenced above will occur tomorrow night into Friday. The dew point will drop from the 70 degree mark back into the middle 60s. However if you remember the scale for the dew point, that is still well into the humid range. So it may feel a bit better but you will still be sweating a lot outside.
Looking ahead to the weekend, we have the first Buckeye football game of the year and it’s of course a holiday weekend. Highs are expected to surge back close to 90 degrees. As the deeper moisture returns to the Ohio Valley, scattered thunderstorms could develop. Stay with ventwing.com for the latest updates to your holiday weekend forecast. Another shot of Fall may be in the works for next week as well!

A leftover shower may still be south of Columbus around 6 p.m. but most folks should be dry. Expect a warm and muggy evening once again across all of central Ohio. Temperatures will slowly fall into the 70s.
The weather will essentially remain the same for the rest of the week minus the threat of rain. Scattered showers and storms will return however for the upcoming weekend. It looks like much cooler weather is in the works by the middle of next week.
Thursday at a glance
Starting off muggy in the 70s once again with mostly cloudy skies. We will see some breaks in the clouds by afternoon which will help boost the thermometer back up into the upper 80s!
