On Oct. 25, “Grimm” premiered season three and “Dracula” debuted its first ever episode after a heavy media push, but hugely popular “Shark Tank” took a bite out of both. TV By the Numbers reported on Oct. 26 that the latest new episode of “Shark Tank” beat NBC’s premieres of “Grimm” and “Dracula” by 11%. The ABC unscripted series drew its biggest audience ever for a regular telecast and continues to rise impressively in ratings.
“Grimm,” which is often described as a cop drama – with a twist, debuted its third season on Friday night. The premiere received mostly good reviews. TV.com posted on Oct. 26, “’Ungrateful Dead’ had quite a bit of action for an episode of ‘Grimm.’ It was nice. That’s not to say that ‘Grimm’ doesn’t usually excite and delight but, well, ‘Grimm’ kind of has of has a formula.” Hitflix wrote on Saturday, “Even though ‘Dracula’ and ‘Grimm’ were sturdy in the key demo, neither drama could top ABC’s ‘Shark Tank.'”
“Dracula,” NBC’s new fairytale action adventure, also received positive response. “The New York Times” posted, “’Dracula’ takes a novel approach to the modern vampire story. Instead of being about pouting teenagers or sex-crazed Southerners, it’s about Bram Stoker’s original vamp, and it’s set in London in the same late-Victorian era as Stoker’s book.”
Although “Grimm” and “Dracula” received fairly good reviews, neither series could stop the success train of “Shark Tank,” which drew in 7.3 million viewers on Friday. The critically acclaimed show offers budding entrepreneurs the opportunity of a lifetime by offering business deals that could make them overnight millionaires. In season four, the “sharks” gave away $6.2 million of their own money to bankroll a wide array of products and services.

- Mark Cuban: Owner and chairman of HDNet and outspoken owner of the 2011 NBA champions, the Dallas Mavericks.
- Lori Greiner: A prolific inventor of retail products who’s often regarded as the “Queen of QVC.”
- Barbara Corcoran: Real estate mogul
- Robert Herjavec: Technology inventor
- Daymond John: Fashion and branding expert
- Kevin O’Leary: Venture capitalist
The next new episode of “Shark Tank” airs at 9 p.m. EST (8 CST) on Friday, Nov. 1.
