In the Miss Teen USA case involving sextortion photos, an arrest has been made. Sources say Cassidy Wolf’s former classmate from high school allegedly confessed Thursday to blackmail and extortion using nude photos of the reigning beauty pageant winner, according to a September 27 EOnline news report.
Jared James Abrahams, 19, was arrested and booked in the nude photos sextortion scandal of Miss Teen USA. Reportedly, authorities began investigating the teen back in March when Wolf notified them of the blackmailing scheme.
Cassidy said an anonymous person contacted her and demanded that she send him more explicit photos of herself or he would put the hacked images “all over the Internet,” adding that “your dream of being a model will be transformed into a porn star.”
It’s unknown how authorities tied Abrahams to sextortion pictures hacking incident. Nonetheless, in June, evidence was found on computers and other devices in his Temecula home. He later turned himself in and confessed to the crimes, saying that he used dozens of computers for hacking. Many other women are believed to have been targeted as well.
Ironically, the former Miss California Teen USA has “mixed emotions” over the sextortion photos scandal that created a nightmare for her entire family.
“My computer light never came on, so I wasn’t aware. This person had been taking pictures of me in my room, changing clothes from putting on outfits, walking back and forth from the shower. I received an anonymous email from an anonymous person [who] basically was extorting me and blackmailing me. I saw that he had attached nude photos of me that he had taken in my bedroom.”
Wolf says she never had interactions with the hacker, but he “terrorized” her and others in high school. And while she is relieved and has closure, Miss Teen USA said “I just think it’s sad that he chose to do this and has now kind of put himself in this big dilemma,” adding that, “I don’t think he realizes the consequences that he’s done and the people that he hurt.”
Abrahams’ attorney said his client has a history of mental problems.
Cassidy Wolf said she wants to use her experience as a victim in the sextortion photos scandal to educate others about how to protect their privacy from hackers of electronic devices.
