We tend to think of September as the end of summer or the “back to school” month, but it is so much more. Oh sure, you may feel like your vacation, or play time, is over but actually it’s only begun.
September is wine season and that means there are sales, events, happenings and adventures all over the Metrolina Area! If you can’t find one of them then you are not looking. Let’s take for example, wine sales. The Wine Shop Dilworth is having a fantastic sale on 2005 Vidal Vineyards Merlot, Napa Valley. This wine retails for $45.00, but if you can get to The Wine Shop quick enough, you can take home this beauty for only $15 bucks!
The Wine Maestro in Mooresville is having an end of the summer sale on dozens of wines as well as offering some great prices on several new arrivals. Ever hear of The Phantom by Bogle? It’s called The Phantom for a reason; it sneaks into stores unnoticed and before you know it, BAM, it’s all gone. And this is an excellent wine at a super price.
Looking for some music? Daveste Vineyards in Troutman is having “Thirsty Thursday” on September 5th from 6-9pm and live music on the 8th in a wonderful outdoor setting with great wines. Raffaldini Vineyards in Ronda is having “Music in the Vineyard” on September 2nd with all kinds of goodies.
If you want more, there’s a Taste of Carolina Wine Festival Tour that leaves out of Charlotte on September 14th. Get on board and celebrate the delicious wines of North Carolina wine country. You will depart from 900 Metrolina Ave. at 10:30 AM and head to Colfax where you’ll enjoy wine tasting from more than 15 different NC wineries. Call today to reserve your tickets. (704) 678-2339.
Don’t have time to travel? Then hit the Sip and Stroll in Charlotte on September 13th and 14th. Details at http://sipandstrollcharlotte.com/
In between these great events and sales you can celebrate this wine season right at home with the many national days of celebration. Did you know that September is National Breakfast Month? A nice sparkling wine or mimosa would go great while you celebrate with a special breakfast one morning. It’s also National Chicken Month, National Mushroom Month and big time oyster season.
Not to mention special days like National Cheese Pizza Day (9/5), TV Dinner Day (9/10), National Linguine Day (9/15), National Guacamole Day (9/16) and of course National Cheeseburger Day (9/18). I’m getting thirsty just thinking about the great month of September!
So remember, Labor Day is not the end, it’s the beginning. September sipping. You can’t beat it!
