We broke the half way point last class for the 2013 courses. The course that begins this Saturday is the final course for the summer before school begins for our young guys. September, October and November are the final courses of 2013 and I’ll post the 2014 course dates sometime in November. 181 guys have safely and successfully attended and graduated training this year and not a single man has quit. In years past the most we ever lost was three guys during the year. Last year we only lost one man and I’m hoping this year we’ll lose NONE.
There are some courses out there that take pride in making it so tough that guys quit and there are guys that contact me wanting to know my attrition rate as some sort of strange gauge they’ll use on whether to attend training here or not. It’s enough to say the training here is tough enough without being over the top. But if guys want some extra SUCK they only need to ask and we’ll deliver. Kinda funny though that after a few minutes of a Goon Squad that desire for some suck evaporates.
I guess I’m on this roll today from an email I received from a young guy wanting to know “Who was tougher, SEALs or Spetsnaz?” And he mentioned a video he saw of Russian Spetsnaz guys beating each other with sticks, rolling through broken glass, and breaking bricks over their heads with hammers. And my answer to that question is there is a big difference between being tough and being stupid and having money for training and not having money for training. SEALs and other Special Forces in this Country and other wealthy Nations like the Brits, Aussies, and a number of others have plenty of money to spend on their forces for equipment and proper training.
When you don’t have any money you resort to breaking bricks over your head for something to do. My advice for anyone encountering an angry Spetsnaz guy is NOT to hit him in the head with a brick. Much better just to shoot him a couple times. That all goes hand in hand with attending training at Extreme SEAL or the “Other Guy” for a one-week Good Squad and calling it SEAL Training cause you have nothing better to offer than days spent Bear Crawling students around until they quit or suffer an injury.
Hopefully the “Other Guy” will never see the brick, hammer, head thing video
or they’ll start offering that as part of their course curriculum. Jeez. I want guys to succeed here. I want leadership and teamwork from each man. I want accomplishment and confidence built from making mistakes and learning from those mistakes. I want each mans very best and in return I’ll give you mine and we’ll CRUSH this course as a Team. For a detailed description of the course here, exactly what we do and why we do it, I’d tell you to get this two-hour video of the course and see if this is what you’re looking for.
I’m not in the video making business, I’m in the SEAL Training business, but people are visual creatures and we understand what we see. Watch the promotion video at http://navysealvideo.com/
