Ring of Honor held their giant “Glory by Honor XII” event on Oct. 26 and the main event saw all four champions battling their number one contenders. Here is a look at the ROH “Glory by Honor XII” results.
One thing that was announced at the show was that, while this is not available on iPPV thanks in large part to the mess from the last show, the card will be split into two ROH TV shows, which will air over the next two weeks. It is unknown if the main event will be on a third show, in a condensed version.
The show opened with Silas Young taking on Mark Briscoe. The match was stiff and brutal and Young actually pulled off the upset win over Briscoe. After the match, he whipped Briscoe with a belt.
Jimmy Jacobs won another match in his road to a contract, by beating Adam Page with Sliced Bread #2.
The Battle of the Piledrivers was next between Michael Bennett and Kevin Steen. Bennett actually won the match with a piledriver thanks to Maria’s interference. Bennett went to attack Steen after the match, but Lisa Marie Varon (the former Tara) attacked Maria and beat her up. Lisa hit the Widow’s Peak on Maria to end the fight.
That is the end of the first ROH TV show taping.
Jessy Sorensen made his Ring of Honor debut after almost being paralyzed in TNA Impact Wrestling last year. He lost his match to Tomasso Ciampa, but looked good.
Outlaw Inc. beat Adrenaline RUSH in the next match and then cut a promo against reDRagon.
The next match saw Paul London battle “Mr. ROH” Roderick Strong. London picked up the win with the Shooting Star Press in what might be the match of the night. That was the end of the second show’s taping results.
That led to the main event. World champion Adam Cole, tag champs reDRagon and TV champ Matt Taven battled Jay Lethal, Michael Elgin and C&C Wrestle Factory. There is a two hour time limit and it is an elimination match. If anyone pins Adam Cole, they get a future world title shot.
The match lasted 75 minutes.
Adam Cole eliminated Cedric Alexander first in about 35 minutes. He then pinned Caprice Coleman, so both members of C&C Wrestle Factory was gone. Bobby Fish was busted open at about this point and was out for awhile as trainers tried to stop the bleeding. Jay Lethal was also put through a table and was out for awhile. Michael Elgin then pinned Kyle O’Reilly with a lariat. Lethal makes his way back in but Cole pins him at about the 55 minute mark. Elgin next made Taven tap out and then he hit the spinning powerbomb on Fish to eliminate him at the 60 minute mark.
That made it Adam Cole vs. Michael Elgin and it was Elgin who picked up the win with a top rope powerbomb and now Elgin will get a future title shot. After the match, Jay Briscoe came into the ring with a black bag. He smashed it over Elgin and Cole’s heads and then pulled out a new world title belt and “Glory by Honor XII” ended with Jay holding the title in the ring.
