I am reviewing Joe Cirafici’s ‘Won’t Hold Back’ album, which you can purchase now; This album was released April 28, 2013 by the Contemporary Christian Music artist. This marks the artist’s first full length album release; and I have to say, it’s a great beginning!
When I did my review of the single, “Won’t Hold Back” back on December 22, 2012… I have to admit that I didn’t see the full potential of Joe Cirafici! The album as a whole, shows a much fuller picture of this artist. He has a vocal range that I wouldn’t of imagined just by hearing the single. I also had the pleasure of interviewing Joe, great guy. Check out the interview from February 11, 2013.
The production of this album is also very high quality! I have to say that this is one of the best indie releases that I have heard in quite some time. My favorite track on this album is, “Reaching (feat. Skrip),” but every song on the album is equally as good in their own way.
I think that most Christian music fans will probably lean towards “Anxiously Awaiting,” as the favorite, it has the successful formula for a Christian song. It’s a great song, love it myself! Just for some reason, I am leaning towards “Reaching.”
I believe that in my review of the single, “Won’t Hold Back” I compared Joe to Jeremy Camp; after hearing this album, I was more spot on than I knew. If you love Jeremy Camp’s music, like I do… you’re going to love Joe Cirafici as well! While the title track is great, it’s actually the weakest track on the album in my opinion. So, if you listened to the single and didn’t quite become a fan, come back and give him another shot. The other songs showcase the artist’s talent more and give us a better view of Joe’s future; better wear sunglasses, its bright!
Listen to the entire album free on RDIO and tweet those tracks @JoeCirafici.
Don’t forget to check out the music video for, “Won’t Hold Back.” While it isn’t my favorite track on the album, it’s still great and the music video is pretty cool too!
Rating: 5/5 for great vocal work, top-notch production, superb songs and for giving me something new to listen to on a regular basis! Add it to your playlist.
This is the lead-in to Sunday’s big Christian artist interview, with John DeGrazio…. So, be sure to come back and read that at 12pm PST 9-1-13! It is a very interesting read, with lots of good stuff; including some new information on John’s next release.
