This review of the Jazzy Blue horse stable blanket is based on my experience and lifetime use of blankets on horses. It is a product that I designed myself and had fabricated for my store [that predominantly trades in horse blankets and horse clothing]. The intent of the Jazzy Blue is to offer horsemen and horsewomen a superior quality blanket that is both durable and hardwearing in the stable. I sought out Ozark to have this blanket fabricated exclusively for me. It bears my own logo of “Little Patrick” so it has to be an excellent product made to my stringent specifications. The result is the stellar blue ribbon color horse blanket I lovingly dubbed Jazzy Blue.
The Jazzy Blue is made to fit exceedingly well using 420 denier nylon fabric. It sports a nylon top that is water repellent. The nylon taffeta inner lining is coat polishing and the 1″ hidden leg straps are comfortable and keep the blanket in place. The blanket features the reinforced channel quilting pattern stuffed with fiberfill insulation. This deliberately-chosen construction keeps the fill in place and enables perfect retention of insulation loft and warmth. There are three dee rings for hood attachment.
It is my preferred stable blanket of choice – the Jazzy Blue surrounds your horse in contoured comfort. It is water repellent and stays pretty clean when wiped down – it is not necessary to add the extra expense of waterproofing because the intent is stable use. At this time, the Jazzy Blue is only available in an open front style with two adjustable straps and in the color blue – Since this is a blanket intended for the hardworking job of durability, warmth, horse and stable comfort, these are my elements of choice and maintain such a great price for buyers.
The horse anatomy is the primary consideration in the design of the Jazzy Blue. Perhaps one of the best features is the blanket’s gently cut-back neck opening – This is perfect for high necks or high withers. This feature fits the horse really well and also eliminates rubbing of the bottom of the mane. It is contoured to fit the body of most horses, especially in the croup. The contoured rump is self-evident in two of the attached pictures.
Of course, the color is particularly fun. It is blue – bright cobalty-royal blue as in hard-won blue ribbons. The Jazzy Blue is electric! The color choice is intentional! It goes with every color of coat, stands out in stall and field, gives the subliminal message of blue and champion and stunning wins and show star. What’s not to like? Each blanket is emblazoned with the Little Patrick logo.
Whenever considering the purchase of a horse blanket, be sure to measure your horse and get his correct size. And, say good-bye to rubs and misfits.
