At first, it may look like just a spoof … an all-day Labor Day event centered around a redneck theme. But the Lee County Labor Day Family Festival and Redneck Games is being held under the auspices of the North Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, and although a little strange, (OK a LOT strange) it is 100% legit.
What does one do to express and enjoy their redneckedness on Labor Day? Lots, apparently. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013, at the North Fort Myers Drive-in & Flea Market. Among the happenings scheduled are “The Mighty Men of Grasscar (a local lawnmower racing organization, a flea market, local business exhibits, lots of kids activities including The Balloon Guy, bounce house and games, a variety of food vendors, a beer garden, prizes, raffles and more…”
