The highlight of my Ocean Spray experience at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival on opening day was wading in the cranberry bog, but there was a lot more to the event than just donning hip waders and sloshing around with the bright red berries.
The media event also featured a delicious selection of food and drinks from various countries. The common thread was that everything I ate and drank incorporated cranberries in some way. I’m already a big cranberry fan, and I incorporate Craisins into salads and several dishes, but the cornucopia of delights that faced me at Epcot taught me that cranberries are even more versatile than I thought.
Check out the list accompanying this article to see some of the mouthwatering dishes. They involved everything from Kobe steak to shrimp quesadillas to Scottish eggs. The sweet taste of cranberries enhanced every option.
If you’d like to join me in the cranberry bog, jump to this article. To see some of the tasty dishes you’ll find at this year’s festival, which runs through November 11, go to this article.
If you’d like to see the cranberry bog for yourself and meet a real Ocean Spray grower, just head past the fountain and keep walking toward World Showcase and you can’t miss it. It’s open every day of the festival.

Cranberry Bog Passport
At the beginning of the Ocean Spray Cranberry Bog event, I received a passport listing all the countries and dishes I’d get a chance to experience. All the worldwide flavors incorporated cranberries in some way.
The United Kingdom table featured Scottish Eggs with delicious cranberry marmalade and Shepherd’s Pie made with beef and Craisins. That marmalade was a great addition.
Potatoes Au Gratin
Craisin, bacon and brie potatoes au gratin was one of the offerings from France. Another dish that gains a nice little flair from the Craisin addition.
Artisan cheese-stuffed mini Craisin brioche was another offering from France at the Ocean Spray cranberry bog event. I’m all about cheese, so this was another winner for me.
Pork Belly and Grits
I love pork belly, and glazing it with Craisins makes it even better because you have that lovely sweetness. This dish was paired with white cheddar maple grits. I also enjoyed the cranberry and sea salt cured salmon with maple sugar crystals. Both dishes from from Canada.
Kobe Beef and Fried Rice
Japan contributed delicious melt-in-your-mouth five spice Kobe beef which was Craisin infused. It was paired up Craisin and vegetable friend rice.
Roasted Sweet Potatoes
How do you make roasted sweet potatoes even better? Drizzle them with Craisin “ketchup.” This tasty combination was served right in the Ocean Spray cranberry bog as a United States offering.
Free Range Chicken
Another food item served right in the Ocean Spray cranberry bog was free range chicken with Craisin moonshine pearls. The sweetness goes very well with poultry.
Tamales and Quesadillas
Mexico contributed mole shrimp quesadillas with an amazing cranberry salsa. This was my favorite item of the night, although Canada and Japan came close. There were also pulled chicken Craisin tamales.
Not only did I get to indulge in a world wide selection of food but also a tasty vodka-based drink made with cranberries. It was known as the O Fizz, and went down so smooth. It was downright addictive.
