With the beginning of November, Festivals and Events in Orange County are beginning to pick up steam, with some days having more than one event to choose from. Starting on the first day of November and going through the 3rd one can see the month is off to a good start, with lots more to follow.
1. The Irvine Spectrum

Holiday on Ice, the outdoor skating rink at the Irvine Spectrum, is scheduled to open on November first, the best part, it will stay open until February 17, 2014. It’s location in the Giant Wheel Court, next to two of the major stores in the Spectrum, Nordstrom and Macy’s, makes it easy to find and an encouragement to visit the stores for special gifts.
The outdoor holiday ice rink is a tradition that can be enjoyed by the whole family. It will be open daily with a 15 minute break for resurfacing the ice between each session. A special holiday schedule begins Nov 29, check out both schedules here and for prices visit here.
2. A Taste of San Clemente

Admission: $75 per person
The annual ‘Taste of San Clemente‘ takes place at the San Clemente Casino, outdoors under the stars, November first from 6 – 10 p.m. The event features culinary masterpieces from over 20 of the cities best restaurants, 16 premier wineries from California, and music and dancing to the ‘Basix’. There will also be a silent auction for guests to bid on the 40 odd baskets and gifts. offered.

3. Harbor Heart Arts & Crafts Festival
Lincoln Ave & Anaheim Blvd
Date: Nov 2, 2013
Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This one day event benefits the nonprofit organization “My Safe Harbor” a faith-based, nonprofit organization based in Anaheim that provides long term support to single mothers and their families. Attendees will find high-quality craft vendors where they might find that perfect gift, enjoy live music, and purchase food from some of Orange County’s finest food trucks. Best of all admission is free and there is lots of parking on-site, also free.
4. Dinosaur Dash
The Market Place
I-5 and Jamboree
Date: Nov. 3, 2013
Time: 6:15 – 11 a.m.
The Dinosaur Dash is the biggest fundraising event of the year of the Tustin Public Schools Foundation and brings together thousands of people for a morning of fitness and fun. There will be four events – 5k and 10k timed races for all ages, 2k non-timed race, and a 50k non-timed bike tour.
After the races there will be entertainment, a food court, an Expo with games, and lots more activities. Free parking is available at the Marketplace, plan on arriving early to get a good spot at the starting line.
