An Olathe, Kan., man who kicked a small dog, causing her death, will not be charged, reported Thursday’s 41 Action News.
In July, Carl Henrichson kicked and stepped on a six pound dog named “Precious.”
The dog, a Yorkshire terrier, had slipped from her leash and ran towards Henrichson and his own large-breed dog. Henrichson claims that he feared harm from the little dog and that his actions were in self-defense.
Henrichson admits to kicking the little dog, to “keep her away,” but insists that stepping on her was accidental.
Shortly after the incident, Precious’ owner, Donna Limbaugh, had stated:
“He put his foot on her and then he raised the other foot so that he actually stood on her. It actually reminded me of if you were going to step on a bug,”
The crushing injuries, which damaged the small dog’s brain and lungs, ultimately caused her death; Precious was euthanized the day after the incident.
On Monday, the Olathe Municipal Prosecutor’s office dismissed the charge against Henrichson.
