With Night of Joy at the Magic Kingdom just around the corner, you’ll want to play your night. This hard ticket event is one of the most action-packed nights (or two, since it runs on both September 6 and 7) that you’ll ever spend at the park. Even though many of the major rides are open, don’t plan to have time for them because the music’s going to take up most of your time.
The only downside is that it’s impossible to see all the concerts, so maximizing your night takes a little planning. If you follow the tips in this list, you’ll get the most out of your Night of Joy experience. It’s an amazing opportunity to combine fun with worship and music from your favorite Christian artists, so you’ll want to see as many performances as possible.
I recommend going both nights of the event if you can. If not, look at the schedule and choose the night that features the biggest concentration of your favorite artists. Friday and Saturday are both sure to amazing events.
Plan Your Night Ahead of Time
Review the schedule carefully so you know where you need to be and when. With such a full schedule, it’s hard to get from one venue to another between sets. Fortunately, the three stages are in fairly close proximity, with two in Tomorrowland and one in front of Cinderella Castle, so the main thing is planning your schedule and watching the time.
Eat Before the Event
Eat before the event. Even though food venues will be open during the event, you probably won’t have much time to stop and eat between concerts. I personally like eating somewhere on Disney property beforehand. The monorail hotels are nice because you can park, hop a monorail to the restaurant, and then take it back to the Magic Kingdom for the event.
Be prepared for a long night. You’re going to want to stay until the end, so take a nap, drink some caffeine, or do whatever else you need to do to be sure you can hold out until 1 a.m. Luckily, this is a high energy event, so once you get into the spirit of things, you shouldn’t have too much trouble staving off sleep.
Try Something New
Step outside of your comfort zone. I recommended making sure you can see as many of your favorite artists as possible, but you might also want to see someone new. You may be familiar with most or all of the performers at Night of Joy, but if not, why not expand your horizons and see someone new?
Take It Easy
Be prepared for a rush when you’re leaving. Night of Joy is a very popular event, and most people do what I recommended previously and stick around until the end. That means a big crowd heading back to the parking lot at the end of the night. Know what’s coming and be prepared to take some time to get back to your car or hotel room.
