A repeat of the 2 hour Fall TV season premiere of “Law & Order: SVU” (NBC) aired on Wednesday Oct. 30, 2013 from 9 to 11 p.m. It replaced the 10 p.m. episode of “Ironside” which was canceled by NBC. The 4th & final segment of the detective TV show aired on Oct. 23.
The 1970’s remake starred Blair Underwood as Robert Ironside & it was axed by NBC after only three episodes. Underwood also served as producer & appeared in all episodes. Four of the episodes which aired grabbed low TV ratings in the 18 to 49 age demographics. This according to the website “TV by the numbers” which tracks all TV ratings.
You can watch all four episodes of “Ironside” on the official NBC website plus streaming online through the “Hulu” website. You can also watch cast interviews & clips from the prime time TV drama. Starting on Nov. 6, 2013 “Dateline” will replace “Ironside” airing original episodes in the 10 p.m. time slot. TV Christmas specials will then run through to January 2014.

AppleofHisEye says, “This makes no sense. My husband and I love this show. I kept waiting for it last night (Oct. 30) and was so disappointed to see a 2 hour show of ‘Law & Order: SVU.’ Disgusting. The only reason I started watching SVU was because I was waiting for ‘Ironside’ to come on.”
Cynthia Piercy says, “I really enjoyed this show. I think he (Blair Underwood) was doing a great job of acting. I am disappointed by this cancellation.”
BriteMoonRising says, “(The TV) show should have been filmed in San Francisco, not NYC!”
88Maggie says, “Big mistake!”
SuperUser says, “I liked ‘Ironside.’ Bummer. I hope the actor (Blair Underwood) finds a new show.”
Homebuddy says, “I remember watching the old ‘Ironside’ series. I think that Blair Underwood is doing a really good job of portraying a disabled person in a wheelchair. It’s a shame that people didn’t give this program time to establish itself as it is well done. (I) guess it didn’t have enough violence and/or sex in the story line to keep people interested. Like I said, it’s a shame.”
Arielifan says, “I wanted to watch the (TV) pilot because I remember the original. While I had my doubts, my wife (who knew nothing about the original) was intrigued and it grew on me with each subsequent episode.”
