Today, September 29, is National Coffee Day. I’ve put a list together of some of the places that have special coffee deals just for the day. A few of the places that you may have been use to just walking in and getting your free coffee have changed their policies or require you to download their smart device apps, so pay attention to the list.
Here’s a list of places serving up some sweet coffee deals for National Coffee Day:
- Starbucks: “Come into a participating Starbucks store this Sunday, September 29, for a taste of our new Ethiopian coffee and discover flavors from the birthplace of coffee,” says Starbucks website. In the past, Starbucks has just giving free coffee away, but this year they’re using to ‘Day’ to share their newest roast since they introduced the ‘Blonde’ series of lighter roasted blends. I couldn’t get any information on which stores were participating and which ones were not, so feel free to let us know as you find them.
- Caribou Coffee: Enjoy a complimentary small coffee of the day at participating Caribou Coffee stores with their special coupon that you’ll need to download from their Facebook page, print off and take with you. If you have a smart phone or other devise you can also pull the coupon up on your mobile device to show.
- Kangaroo Express: For National Coffee Day Kangaroo will be giving 12 oz. cups of coffee from 8 a.m. until noon for a penny. Free is better than cheap, but this is as close to free anyone can get. Also through Monday you can get coffee refills for only fifty cents.
- Einstein Bros. Bagels: It’s a BOGO affair at Einstein for coffee or specialty coffee.
- WAWA : You can get a free 16 oz. cup of coffee at WAWA, but you’ll have to get on their website and register to get a coupon code that you have to print off and take in. A little work, but if you love their coffee, it’s with a few clicks and print. (Click here to get register).
- Dunkin’ Donuts: You won’t be able to just walk in to Dunkin’ and get your free coffee this year. Like several other coffee places, you’ll need to download their smart device mobile app from either the Apple or Android app store. Once you’ve done this, just look for the special ‘offers’ to find the coupon.
- Krispy Kreme: You’ll want to take advantage of Krispy Kreme’s offers. First grab a hot 12 oz. coffee for free, and then you choose any of their specialty drinks for only $1. Coffee and donuts, you can’t go wrong. Here’s a link to a list of participating stores. (Wichita is participating)
- Peet’s Coffee & Tea: At all free-standing coffee shops (sorry for those of you stuck at the airport, transit station, or super markets) order any baked item or a bowl of Simply Oatmeal for a small free Maple latte. Only from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop: Order a coffee, say “Happy National Coffee Day” , and then get another for free.
- McDonald’s: Get a small free coffee all day. (As reported by Channel 13 News)
- The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: Be one of the first 2,500 customers at Anaheim Angels Stadium between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to trade your old, electric coffeemaker for a free Americano machine ($149 value) during the “Trade Up Your Cup” Event.
