Scarlett has been involved romantically with both Avery and Gunnar – both relationships ending badly. This season, her childhood friend Zoey is on the scene and now there appears to be a full blown love rhombus as this foursome struggles to figure out who loves who. “It Must Be You” aired Wednesday at 9 p.m. on “Nashville.”
Last week, Gunnar and Zoey slept together after a rehearsal and then both felt a little weird about it. The trouble occurred when Gunnar decided he wanted more and Zoey told him she felt she’d broken the girlfriend’s code and that out of loyalty to Scarlett, she shouldn’t see him anymore. He didn’t take it very well.
Scarlett dropped in on Avery looking for career advice and after the two share an emotional chat, they end up in his bed. He wants her to stay but she says she’ll see him later at the Blue Bird where she is performing for the media. She seeks out Zoey and tells her she just slept with Avery and she doesn’t know if she wants to get back together or not but it sure did feel like home being with him.
That night, all four of them are at the Blue Bird, everybody giving everybody else doe eyes and it’s almost impossible to tell who has feelings for who. Avery definitely wants to get back together with Scarlett and tells Zoey so, hoping to enlist the aid of his love’s interest’s bestie. Zoey sees Scarlett singing and thinks she’s directing her song to Avery. She decides it is okay to take a chance on Gunnar and the two of them end up lip locked as the credits role.
The trouble is, Scarlett is hard to read and she may not be interested in Avery or Gunnar. Then again, she might be. Will she be okay with Zoey seeing Gunnar? We’ll have to tune in to the next episode to find out.
“Nashville” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
