There are special events that happen at the parks throughout the year. Some of them are included in the price of your admission ticket, others require a separate ticket to enjoy. These are some of the best and most popular events that take place at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival
Epcot comes to life with beautiful topiaries and flowers during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Starting at the beginning of March and continuing through the first half of May, guests can walk throughout the park and see many beautiful flowers. In addition to the flowers is live music nightly at the American Garden Theatre, tips and tricks to gardening, butterfly garden and tasty culinary creations and beverages inspired by fresh ingredients (additional fees apply). The festival is included in the price of admission.
Star Wars Weekends
Star Wars Weekends takes place in the late spring, typically the last two weekends of May and first two weekends of June. It takes place in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and is including in the cost of the admission ticket. Guests can get autographs with Star Wars characters, celebrities, enjoy a special parade and nighttime stage show.
Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
Taste your way around the world, the World Showcase that is. Guests can sample culinary creations and delicious drinks from more than 25 different countries, experience special culinary and beverage events (additional fees apply) and watch popular musical acts. The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival takes place starting the last weekend in September and continues through the beginning of November.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
This Halloween-themed event takes place on select nights in September and October at Magic Kingdom. Guests can enjoy Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, HalloWishes (nighttime fireworks), trick-or-treating, dance parties and meeting their favorite characters including many of the Disney villains. Select attractions are open. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a ticketed event so you must purchase separate tickets to attend. All guests are allowed to dress up.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Taking place in November and December is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. Guests can watch a special parade and fireworks, see Cinderella’s castle shimmer like ice, see snow fall on Main Street U.S.A., eat cookies and drink hot chocolate, ride select attractions, attend a dance party and meet some of their favorite Disney characters as well as Santa. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party requires a separate ticket to attend.
