“Gear up, DiNozzo. Grab your bag,” might be what Gibbs would say, but today it’s more likely that gear bag includes Pampers and a change of infantwear for NCIS star Michael Weatherly. The actor and his wife, Bojana Jankovic, welcomed their second child, son Liam, into the world Oct. 29. In perfect keeping with the Tony DiNozzo character he plays, at 3:50 pm Tuesday, Weatherly tweeted the news to his followers without missing a chance to remind his followers not to miss last night’s show.

The star’s son-welcoming tweet was retweeted 590 times and favorited by 868 more. Weatherly is one of television’s leading show’s leading men, and he’s a social media favorite as well. Presently, Michael has 299,345 Twitter followers (@M_Weatherly).
Weatherly and wife, Bojana, have daughter Olivia, who was born in 2012. The actor also has a 17-year-old son from a previous marriage, CBS News noted.
The affable actor also has also directed an episode of NCIS, including Episode 17 of Season 8 “One Last Score,” plus he was in it, “well played” as DiNozzo would quip. Joining Mark Harmon on the cover of TV Guide (Oct. 21-Nov. 3, 2013 double issue) is also another Weatherly accomplishment. So far he seems to be having a very good month.
Michael does music as well. You’ve heard him singing on NCIS. One memorable episode was “Driven,” Episode 1 of Season 4, where he talked and sang with a fake goatee and borrowed Jamaican accent, strumming his guitar while delivering a status report to (then) NCIS Director Jenny Shepard via hidden microphone.
But, Weatherly sings for real, too, and he’s a songwriter to boot. On Sept. 24, 2013, CBS.com debuted his latest song, “Under the Sun,” on their network web site, prime realty, with an accompanying video. Poignantly, Weatherly was quoted as saying “I wrote this whole song over the summer after we found out Cote was leaving the show.” Listen and watch for yourself by checking out his video, posted with this story.

And, as he says in his tweet, Tuesday night is the most important night of the week if you’re an NCIS fan. The show’s fan base is most definitely impressive. Just last week, in their 11th season now, “NCIS” ranked as the Number one TV show in the Nielsen ratings, as reported in TV Guide, with 20,000,000 viewers watching the show live and then you add in 3,200,000 who watched their DVRs within 3 days of the broadcast. Welcome to the world, Liam Weatherly.
