America watched as Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of Health and Human Services, spoke more with her hands than her mouth at the hearing in Capitol Hill. Her nervous gestures demonstrated she had much to hide but her friends of democrat affiliation were all there to help calm her nerves. The questions by Republicans were very eye opening. They ranged from questions about the actual glitches in the Obamacare website to questions about Obamacare itself and how it’s causing millions of people to lose their existing private healthcare due to the new asphyxiating regulations.
The secretary of HHS, who is famously remembered for refusing to change the rules to allow a child under 12 years of age to go on a waiting list for a lung transplant, kept a poker face today at the hearing. She answered her questions as carefully and poised as Hillary Clinton did in the Benghazi hearing, minus Mrs. Clinton’s meltdown.
Democrats at Capitol Hill took their turn, one by one spitting into the microphone about how Republicans don’t want Obamacare to work and actually blaming the private insurance sector for the mess. Frank Pallone, a democrat representative from New Jersey’s 6th district claimed that all the talk from individuals being cancelled from their private insurances is a red herring. Wouldn’t that make it 2,000,000 red herrings, Mr. Pallone? Insuring the uninsured and uninsuring the insured is simply bad math.
Who are the losers in all this? Responsible American citizens and hard working small businesses are the clear losers. Illegal immigrants, the incarcerated, and lazy drug addicted grownups won’t have a problem getting insurance . It makes perfect sense now. The whole idea is to shift wealth in the name of health insurance from one group and give it to the next. “Equality” works in mysterious ways.
Private health insurance companies across the land are being heavily taxed by Obamacare and vilified. A luxury tax is imposed on private health insurance policies that are considered better than the governements’. Remember, in socialism you cannot have a “better” product. Everyone is equal but inferior as compared to the elite government rulers. The imposed new price tag is then passed on to employers who purchase healthcare for their employees. Many employers cannot financially carry the new sticker price required under Obamacare, so they drop the employees’ coverage and suffer a penalty, per employee.
Even Papa John’s said they will have to weigh whether or not to drop employee coverage and pay a fine of $2,000 per employee. One thing is for sure, the price of their pizza will go up. Many companies have opted to step down to inferior type policies that will cover 75%-80% medical expenses with a high employee deductable, rather than completely dropping coverage for their employees.
Who wins? The government does, from luxury taxes they impose on private insurance companies to penalty taxes that families will pay for not buying health insurance to employer penalty taxes for dropping employees’ insurance coverage to innovation taxes for medical devices. All this, wrapped in a broken website that doesn’t even have an encryption system for the American people’s privacy and personal protection.
“Hold me accountable, I’m responsible” said Kathleen Sebelius. Ironically, she’s irresponsible and will not be held accountable. Heartwarming isn’t it?
