The Jews didn’t misunderstand when they became upset because Jesus called Himself the Son of God. John 10th chapter, 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, for a good work we stone you not; but for blasphemy; and because that you, being a man, makes thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, You are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, you blasphemes; because I said, I am the Son of God?
Jesus here let the cat out of the bag, but they did not fully get it. Basically he was saying, hey not just me but there will be others that will be brought into the family of God.
So I will say it just like I have explained it so far. God, the Elohim (a plural word) is a family. A father and a Son who is working to bring other ones created to become sons of God; of a completely different and higher order than angels, by inheritance.
EPHESIANS CHAPTER 3
14 ¶ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,”
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now that the conflict should be ended as to wither Jesus is the Father. He is not. I will add a couple of Scriptures here to solidify that fact.
JOHN CHAPTER 14
28 ¶ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18 I am one that bears witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me. (By this he plainly says that he and the Father are two separate persons)
1 CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 15
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him that God may be all in all.
(Thus by no form of logic could they be the same person)
Now let’s finish dealing with who Christ is as the ONLY begotten Son of God. It should become clear that all we have said is correct.
HEBREW CHAPTER 1
4 ¶ Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
People the only person that is to be worshipped is God. And the Father told the Angels, here, to worship him.
