Millionaire televangelist son-of-a-senator Pat Robertson has given warning to America and Americans not to pressure the Jewish state of Israel in peace talks to end its illegal occupation of Palestinian East Jerusalem. Pat said, “[I]f the United States pressures Israel to try to give up half of Jerusalem, God himself is going to come against this nation. Watch it.”
US Secretary of State John Kerry is trying to put together “peace talks” between the Jewish state of Israel and the Islamic observer state of Palestine. US politicians and Israel have for decades been playing the Palestinians for fools with these endless peace talks which only result in Israel’s continued expansion on to Palestinian land. Pat Robertson must not understand that the “peace talks” are for show to placate the Palestinians and people around the globe who are concerned about the real threat Israel is to regional peace in the Middle East. (Read our Deism eBooklet The Danger of Israel to learn more about the key reason for religious violence in the Middle East and the worldwide reach it has.)
To make clear there is no good faith on the part of the US politicians all we need to do is to objectively look at who Kerry has as the US representative for the “peace talks.” He has chosen Martin Indyk. Indyk is a devout Jew who believes in putting the interests of Israel above all. Here’s an informative article about him.
Based on the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, Pat Robertson is correct. If the “peace talks” really were on the level and the US politicians were genuinely trying to bring peace to the Middle East by having BOTH sides make REAL concessions, then the Bible god would destroy America based on Isaiah 60:12 which claims God said regarding Israel, “For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.”
The neoconservative movement, which was key in bringing about the disastrous war against Iraq and is currently pushing us towards new wars with Syria and Iran to benefit Israel, is grounded on the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. Anyone familiar with the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament knows it promotes genocide, rape of “women children” (Numbers 31:17-18) the idea that Israel should rule the world (Deuteronomy 28:1) and many, many other evil, dangerous and bad ideas. It’s Bible teachings like these that help us to understand what Thomas Paine meant when in The Age of Reason, The Complete Edition he wrote, “It is a duty incumbent on every true Deist, that he vindicate the moral justice of God against the calumnies of the Bible.”
Perhaps one of the reasons too many Christians are like Pat Robertson and believe we should give unquestioning blind support to the Jewish state as the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament demands is because Jesus referred to the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament as “the word of God” in Mark 7:13 when he was attacking the Jews for not killing their disobedient children as the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament commands at Deuteronomy 21:18-21 among other places.
Pat Robertson is known for not telling the truth, for example when he lied about being a combat Marine during the Korean War and a real combat Marine, Paul “Pete” McCloskey, called him out on it Pat started a $35 million lawsuit against against McCloskey for libel. However, Pat dropped the suit and paid all of McCloskey’s legal fees! This time regarding Israel and the Hebrew Bible god, Pat is biblically accurate as the above Bible teachings show.
Isn’t it time for the violence and fear producing ancient “revealed” religions to be replaced by Nature and Reason friendly Deism? Isn’t it time our belief in God did not require us to abandon our gift from God of innate reason? It’s definitely time for Deism!
