The thought is that bacon can make just about every single thing in the world better. Well, that’s why there is International Bacon Day every year, and it is a glorious day to be celebrated. It always falls on the Saturday before Labor Day, and as NBC revealed on Aug. 31, 2013, there are some great bacon-themed restaurants that you can visit that will help you celebrate in style.
Believe it or not, this is not a new “holiday.” The first ever Bacon Day was conceived in the town of Bedford, Massachusetts, back in 2000.
Celebrations for International Bacon Day range from parties to meals to days filled with events. Some gatherings even have competitions in which people can create new bacon dishes, dress in bacon-themed outfits, and bring forth bacon-flavored drink concoctions.
If you’re spending the day at home, then make sure to include bacon into all of your meals for the day.
If you are one of those that wants to venture out and try some new dishes on International Bacon Day, then that may be the better option. There are plenty of choices out there for you around the country, and these restaurants provide awesome bacon-themed options.
