On tonight’s season premiere ‘Impractical Jokers,’ a tribute to boys who never grow up, Tru-TV brings yet another season of belly laughs and outrageous stunts from the four guys fans have come to know and love. Joe Gatto, Sal Vulcano, Brian “Q” Quinn and James “Murr” Murray were all born without filters and will do just about anything to win a challenge in this episode titled, “Enter the Dragons.”
As the episode begins, they are in a mall as Sal must hug unsuspecting people on the ride up the escalator. The first man seems like he will not go along, but halfway up, he agrees, then Sal tells him that he was supposed to hug him all the way up, and even convinces him to go back down, hugging all the way. As the man continues on his journey, they get to hug one more time on the way back up and even get another man to join in a group hug! Great job, Sal! You deserve a hug for that one.
Murr is next and must call someone’s mother before the end of the escalator ride. He meets a family and the guy lets him get on the escalator ahead of him. He tells him that he wants to call his mother and tell her she raised a good son. Too bad she is right behind him on her own phone. After several unsuccessful tries, he is forced to have someone sniff his armpit or lose the challenge. As luck would have it, he finds a woman who not only sniffs one, but both armpits, believing that each has a different cologne. Thumbs up!
Next, Q must get someone to take their belt off and succeeds as a group of guys come to his rescue. Then Joe has to caress someone’s face, while they do the same to him. Joe stayed on the escalator until he was exhausted, but nobody would give him a face caress, so he lost that challenge.
Next venue was a supermarket where they must whisper sweet nothings in peoples’ ears, attempting to get them to whisper back. As each one whispered silly phrases, they scared the crap out of most people. The only successful one was Q.
At the zoo, for challenge number three, they conducted a survey, they asked people stupid questions. Some of the questions were too outrageous for them to ask the innocent visitors. So in the end, Sal and Joe were the big losers and for their challenge, they had to be the opening act for the group Imagine Dragons.
Although they had no musical experience, they made a valiant effort. Sal had the guitar and for Joe, he got to sit behind the drums. It was outdoors, pouring rain, and the crowd was not ready to be pranked. As Joe did several drum solos, Sal had to do the worm and after reading the tribute to the crowd in Long Island, telling them they were not as good as the Pittsburgh crowd, they made no friends on this night; thank goodness they still have each other on this episode of ‘Impractical Jokers.’
