The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is located just one mile from Walt Disney World. It’s minutes from Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando. The resort is aesthetically impressive inside and out (video tour). The 18 story atrium lobby is magnificent. Situated on 1,500 acres of exquisitely manicured property, the upper levels of the resort overlook the Lake Buena Vista area and several notable landmarks at all four Walt Disney World parks.
Even though guests won’t want to spend much time inside, the rooms at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress are clean and spacious. The large flat-screen television adds a homey feeling to the room. Rooms have docking stations for Apple devices. Disney’s Epcot fireworks are visible from the upstairs lobby area and from several guest rooms.
A few of the amenities and activities included for the (mandatory) resort service fee are:
- Resort shuttle services to nearby Orlando theme parks and attractions

The pool at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is its signature attraction. The 800,000 gallon, ½ acre, free-flowing lagoon pool boasts 12 waterfalls, heated and non-heated sections, two whirlpools, and a water slide tower pavilion. It’s surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, rock formations, and modern lighting. Children must be supervised at all times while in the pool. But the majority of the pool has a depth of less than 4 feet, making it very child-friendly. There is a section of the pool that has a depth of 6 feet.
Themed packages and end of the summer savings are available. Guests can take advantage of Labor Day weekend rates starting at $109 (plus resort fees). The Sunshine on Sale deal allows guests to stay three consecutive nights and get the fourth night free. Labor Day weekend themed poolside buffet dinners are $27 per adult and $13.50 per child (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.). There are beach bonfires at dusk and family movies on Lake Windsong at 8:30 p.m.
