The Humane Society of Greater Dayton’s 6th annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner was held this afternoon, Sept 28, 2013. For a very nice change of pace, the event was held at the Possum Creek Metropark. The grey, drizzly weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of the volunteers (and one Chihuahua) who turned out for the event. Attendees were treated to a delicious meal from City Barbecue and a beautiful arrangement from Edible Arrangements, with cookies and brownies for dessert! Recognition was given to the faithful volunteers who work with the shelter’s dogs, cats, rabbits and other pets. Handmade (by a HSGD volunteer!) tokens of appreciation were given out, and a very pleasant afternoon of good food and fellowship was spent amidst the wildflowers and birds at the beautiful Dayton Metropark.

Tokens of appreciation
These very cute and very strong, functional magnets were handmade by one of the volunteers – for the volunteers – of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. All different pets were represented, as well as recognition of the efforts of the foster ‘parents’ and other volunteers.
This beautiful fruit bouquet from Edible Arrangements was part of the delicious luncheon provided by the Humane Society of Greater Dayton in recognition of their volunteers.
Volunteers wasted no time in loading up their plates and enjoying a fine meal and the company of their like-minded friends at the Humane Society recognition event.
It was literally a blur as volunteers made fast work of the tasty meal at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton volunteer recognition luncheon! It was great fun to be able to get together all at the same time with fellow volunteers.
Check out this guy!
This is what it’s all about! This little cutie was a welcome guest at the event! Fashionably dressed for the season, he charmed all of the volunteers at the luncheon!
