If you’re looking for something relaxing to do this Halloween week after attending Hollywood’s Haunted Hayride, there’s no better time for watching scary movies showing models getting chased, hacked, and bludgeoned in some of the most creative ways possible. There are two Hollywood film franchises that have found the formula for killing off models best – Scream and Scary Movie.
With its clever premise of a killer following the ‘rules’ of horror movies, Scream was a monster success, spawning three sequels, a multitude of copycat videos by fans on YouTube, and a dark comedy spoof of the film entitled Scary Movie, which formed a formidable fan following and hatched four sequels of its own.
While the two blockbuster franchises have been compared for their many parallels, one thing is clear – both the Scream and Scary Movie films feature several roles filled by LA models, models turned actors, actors and singers turned models, and Playboy playmates being killed in a myriad of ways, all while following the No. 1 rule of Hollywood horror films, the model is (almost) always first to die.
