The weather pattern remains quite the same as it has all week long across the region. This will continue to bring above normal temperatures, increased humidity, and the threat for widely scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms through the coming weekend. Several disturbances will ride up and over the top of a sprawling ridge of high pressure over the center of the nation. The disturbances will follow a trajectory along the northern tier of the nation, straddling the Canadian border, before taking a southeastward motion over New York and New England, as the ride down the eastern side of the ridge complex.
The forecast will sound like the proverbial ‘broken record’ prior to a strong cold frontal passage on Labor Day. Conditions behind this frontal boundary will be more in line with late summer across the northeast as the shortened work week starts.
