On Oct. 31, 2013, “X Factor” stars from around the world went on the Internet to share how they are celebrating Halloween, also known as All Hallows’ Eve.
Liam Payne of One Direction (third place on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2010) tweeted a photo of himself holding a pumpkin with the “1D” logo carved on the pumpkin. Payne tweeted, “Happy Halloween here’s my pumpkin attempt I’m very proud of myself and that I can now handle sharp objects.”
Zayn Malik and Niall Horan of One Direction also tweeted a Halloween photo of themselves. In the photo, Malik is holding a pumpkin with the “1D” logo, while Horan is holding a pumpkin carved with the letters “SOML,” which is an acronm for One Direction’s latest single “Story of My Life,” which was released earlier this week and debuted at No. 1 on iTunes in numerous countries. Malik tweeted this accompanying message: “Vas sapning Halloween !!!” (Malik is known for saying the catch phrase, “What’s happening,” but pronounced “Vas sapning.” Horan also gave props to “The X Factor” U.K. 2010 winner Matt Cardle by tweeting: “Just got @matt_cardle_uk new album porcelain , love it !”
Union J (fourth place on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2012) posted a two-minute Halloween video on YouTube, in which Union J’s George Shelley is being chased in the dark by three guys wearing masks of “X Factor” U.K. judge Louis Walsh, who was Union J’s mentor on the show.
Little Mix (winner of “The X Factor” U.K. in 2011) spent Halloween rehearsing for the group’s guest appearance on “The X Factor” U.K., where Little Mix will perform “Move” on Nov. 3, 2013. Little Mix tweeted a photo of Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock in Halloween costumes with this accompanying message: “Just at rehearsals, so excited to perform #Move on @XfactorUK this Sunday! We can’t wait! Love Little Mix xxx”
Sharon Osbourne (judge on “The X Factor” U.K.) and her co-hosts on CBS’s “The Talk” dressed up as characters from the “Peter Pan” novels. Osbourne dressed as Captain Hook.
Demi Lovato (judge on “The X Factor” U.S.) tweeted that she is spending this Halloween feeling sick: “I’m running fever and I feel like … I need chicken noodle soup… ASAP.” But later she tweeted a photo of herself dressed as a zombie. In the accompanying message: “This is real, this is me, I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be now…. So I guess things never change……. #halloween.”
Fifth Harmony (third place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2012) is having a Halloween party at Planet Hollywood in New York City. The group tweeted on Oct. 30, 2013: “NYC: We’re hosting a #5HHauntedHalloweenParty to celebrate “Better Together” EP TOMORROW at @PlanetHollywood @ 5 http://5hhauntedhalloweenparty.splashthat.com”
Emblem3 (fourth place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2012) was ont he syndicated radio show “On Air With Ryan Seacrest,” where Emblem3 debuted a parody performance set to Ylvis’ “The Fox.” Emblem3’s Wesley Stromberg told Seacrest on the show: “We thought the Ylvis song was genius! We were always playing it backstage to psych us up for the show and figured if we’re always rockin’ out to it, why not just tape it and share with our fans!”
Ronan Keating (judge on “The X Factor” Australia) shared his excitement about getting the Activision video game “Call of Duty: Ghosts.” Keating tweeted: Look what just arrived. Massive thanx to activision. I am sooooooo excited.” Massive thanx to @Activision for #CODGhosts. One of the first in the world.” He later added, “Happy holloween everyone. Just to get u all in the mood watch Missys latest movie Dark Touch. It will scare the pants off ya.”
Dannii Minogue (judge on “The X Factor” Australia) tweeted Instagram photos of Halloween cakes and decorations. She tweeted: “Halloween celebrations have begun ?? it wouldn’t be a celebration without @burchpurchese #Yummmmm. It’s a Halloween X Factor celebration! @thexfactor_au @damiandmusic.”
