The Thanksgiving celebration welcomes the holiday season once again. Soon the spirit of the season will fill our hearts with cheer, as we hear our favorite holiday tunes and search for that perfect Christmas gift. Finally ending by welcoming a new year. Cromwell Valley Park adds it’s own cheer this holiday season with nature’s jnspiration.
Talmar Tree Sales
On Friday, November 29, the TALMAR Horticultural Center begins the annual tree sale at the greenhouse. You pick out a Frazier Fir tree, a wreath, a poinsettia, and/or seasonal arrangements. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, coffee, or tea as you look around. It is the perfect way to start the holidays with the family.
Holiday Open House
On Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Cromwell Valley Park is offering its Holiday Open House, a program suitable for all family members at the Sherwood House. This event is $2.00 per person. pre-registration is required as walk-ins are not allowed.
Enjoy the perfect family event during the Holiday Open House. Help decorate Sherwood House in time for the holidays. There will be seasonal crafts, cookie decorating, hot cider, music, and a visit from Santa. Check out TALMAR for that special tree or pick up a poinsettia.
What You Need to Know
Cromwell Valley Park is located on 2175 Cromwell Bridge Road. The Main Visitor Entrance is at Willow Grove Farm (second gate). Click here for directions to the park.
There are many educational activities for children and families offered by Cromwell Valley Park, many of them are interactive or hands-on. Some activities include hiking, camping, gardening, and crafts. Adults and seniors can join the fun through seminars, classes, sales, and other events.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset 7 days per week, 365 days of the year. Admission to Cromwell Valley Park is free to the public, although some programs require a registration fee.

Willow Grove Nature Education Center
The Willow Grove Nature Education Center is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. most weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. It is closed Sundays. Hours are dependent on outdoor programs and available staff, so call ahead to see if they are open.
According to the Cromwell Valley Park, the Willow Grove Nature Education Center “offers plenty of opportunities for visitors to learn about nature, farming, local history, and conservation awareness.”
Also, visit the reptiles, amphibians, and mammals native to Maryland.
