Florida’s top Actors George Schiavone (Uncle Bill) and Michael Focas (Joseph) give stellar performance in GableStage last production of the 2012-2013 season, ‘Sons of the Prophet‘.
Schiavone’s voice, accent and physical state for the important role of (Uncle Bill) is a season best in South Florida. Michael Focas as (Joseph) gives the most realistic portrayal of a son who has lost both parents, dealing with health issues of his own, in need of medical insurance.
Michael Focas (Joseph) takes on a job with wealthy widow Patti Gardner (Gloria) who also gives one of her best performances to date. One of the smallest roles (Vin), that of a football player who’s prank is the biggest part in the story, played by Edson Jean gives a truthful and thought provoking performance.
This brilliant cast wins the game through heart and soul, ending the GableStage season with its’ best production of the year. If only the Artios Award committee for casting could see this production and brilliant cast.” BroadwayGlobal.
The handsome half naked Jose Urbino playing a reporter (Timothy) is another perfect choice, not just in looks, but his perfromance captures a man torn between love and career. Michael Kushner as Joseph’s gay brother (Charles) hits the character with ease and flair. The direction is spotless. Joseph Adler has the rythem flowing from scene to scene, with seamless beats and masterful simplistic blocking.
