A little over a year ago the country watched Miss Mykie become one-fourth of the new set of hosts of BET’s 106 & Park, anchored by Bow Wow. In May, 3 of the hosts departed leaving Bow Wow and a continuous train of female co-hosts.
Miss Mykie immediately bounced back going to create the first ever Instagram show, The Tea on July 15. Today Miss Mykie celebrates once again as she has now become the face of Russell Simmon’s new venture All Def Digital. Miss Mykie and All Def Digital will now feature The Tea daily on it’s YouTube channel. In a sit down with Entertainment personality Queen Bobbi, Miss Mykie talks transitioning from music performer to TV host and what she learned during her hosting stint with BET’s 106th & Park:
I was a performer right before I started 106th & Park so being a performer you have to be really extra and big when you’re on stage. When I got to 106th & Park I was the same way. I will go back and watch my footage like “oh my god girl you need to tone it down a little bit girl you don’t need to perform like you’re on the stage you need to perform like you’re on TV” [laughs]. Because it shows everything! So, it’s a totally different thing. I came from being an artist to a TV personality so I’ve learned the skills and everything it takes to be a TV personality. Shoot, Russell Simmons and Steven Rifkind put a stamp behind it so I’m feeling really good right now again November 4th, The Tea the premiere, y’all make sure and check it out on All Def Digital on YouTube.com backslash a-l-l-d-e-f-d-i-g-i-t-a-l.
