Halloween 2013 is just two days away. If you haven’t decided on a costume yet, have no fear. Five TV talk shows will air special Halloween episodes on Oct. 31 and all are great resources for Halloween costume ideas that are certain to be sure-fire hits. On Oct. 29, WDAF-TV said that the popular trends for Halloween 2013 include the Fox from ‘What Does the Fox Say?,’ Minions from “Despicable Me” and Miley Cyrus’ Twerking Bear. “Elle Magazine” wrote on Tuesday, “Halloween is the one time of year it’s okay to reveal that wild, alter-ego usually kept under wraps.”
Every Halloween, TV talkers go all out and go to battle in the ever-escalating Halloween ratings war. The costumes are always fantastic, trendy, festive and spot-on with current events and pop culture. In 2012, most Halloween shows were canceled or postponed due to Hurricane Sandy.
Halloween is big business. The majority of Americans – 158 million – will celebrate Halloween this year and spend close to $7 million on costumes, candy and decorations. TV networks realize the popularity of the holiday and try to attract viewers with special Halloween shows.
Over on “Live with Kelly and Michael,” Halloween turns into a huge costume extravaganza. The same can be said of the Halloween bash on “The View” and “Today,” as well as “Good Morning America.” The fifth TV talk show to get great Halloween costumes ideas from is “The Talk.” Ellen DeGeneres gets an honorable mention. One Halloween, she dressed as Snooki’s pouf. Was it original? Yes. Was it easy to make at home? Absolutely!
In 2013, the most popular commercial Halloween costumes for adults are ones from TV’s “Duck Dynasty” and the retired series “Breaking Bad.” Family-approved, redneck-certified “Willie,” “Si” and “Phil” costumes are all the rage and are sold out in most stores. “Breaking Bad” hazmat suits were available for $49.99, but they too are no longer available due to their popularity in 2013.
So, why not make your own Halloween costume this year? For fantastic ideas, simply turn on your TV set on Thursday and let your creativity flow.
