Sunday, September 29 has been designated National Coffee Day by someone. Who are we to argue? Start the morning with a hot, fresh cuppa joe, but later in the day, consider raising a toast with one of these tasty coffee cocktails:
Good Morning and Good Night
(from Hennessy Cognac)
- 1.5 oz Coffee-infused* Hennessy VS
- .5 oz Tia Maria or other coffee liqueur
- .5 oz Madeira Port
- Dash Angostura Bitters
- Dash Fee Brothers Cherry Bitters
- 3 Coffee Beans for Garnish
Combine all liquids in a mixing glass. Add ice, stir well and strain into a rocks gass with a fresh large ice. Garnish with coffee beans.
*For the infusion, add one tablespoon rough-ground coffee to one cup of Hennessy VS. Allow to sit in a closed container for six hours, shaking well every hour. After six hours, strain through a fine sieve and re-bottle. Lasts about six months
