As “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie fans continue to eagerly await confirmed news on the casting of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, “Fifty Shades of Grey” producer Dana Brunetti recently sat down this week for a radio interview to offer his thoughts on the steamy film, and what fans can expect, the Hollywood Gossip reports this Wednesday, Aug. 28. The casting news and confirmed details this excellent source offered may make some readers very excited, and could make a few fellow enthusiasts a bit disappointed.
Firstly, Brunetti confirmed the welcome talk that the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie will definitely be hitting U.S. theaters this August 1, 2014. That means that regardless of who are Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele is cast as, we have only 11 months to go before seeing EL James’ great novel ravishing us on the silver screen.
Now for a difficult update from the producer’s mouth — although Brunetti said that he and the movie team are working hard to find that perfect Christian and Ana, the casting process is much more difficult than some fans realize. He added that quite a few lovers of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy may be disappointed with who is chosen to play Christian Grey especially, but he said that finding that perfect couple cannot please all fans, and that criticisms are inevitable. Once the official cast has been established, the source added that what’s most important in their own finding is not simply discovering a separately great Christian and Ana, but leads that have perfect chemistry together on screen.
But “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie fans shouldn’t hang their heads in defeat, because Brunetti did confirm that the movie team is most certainly keeping the choices and voices of the fans “observed … and considered.” Everything from casting debates on online forums to article comments, Twitter-made tweets, and fan-made film trailers will all serve as important parts of choosing Christian and Ana (and likely other cast members, too).
A “chemistry test” for the sexy leads will also be included, even if a specific actor or actress is given a casting call for the role. Again, what’s of fundamental consequence to casting producers is that Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele can cast their spell onto audiences during the sex scenes and with Christian “courting” Ana during the love affair.
Although talk of casting Anastasia Steele first in “Fifty Shades of Grey” was initially rumored, it seems that Christian Grey may be in fact chosen first by the film team, Brunetti suggested. Finally, this leading source did not confirm that the sequel books, “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed” will be released, only that the team is focusing now on bringing “Fifty Shades of Grey” to life, giving the flick the justice it deserves.
What’s your opinion of this latest news? Talk is that we will have our Christian and Ana offers made public after this Labor Day, so stay tuned.
