Farrah Abraham has authored books, recorded songs, and appeared on a reality show. Now, the “Teen Mom” star is going to give soap operas a try and according to an August 28 report, she has landed a role on “Days of Our Lives.”
Audition tapes from Farrah surfaced yesterday and shortly after, a source confirmed, “Farrah initially wanted one of the lead roles, but clearly she’s not a seasoned actress, so she auditioned for the role of a hooker named Destiny.”
She has the role, but much to the dismay of cast and crew, though.
The source went on to say, “Some of the cast and crew is peeved that she’s even on the show because they don’t think a popular daytime show that’s been on the air for 50 years needs to use a ridiculous ploy like Farrah’s name to get viewers.”
“Days of Our Lives” has been on the air for 48 years, but viewers have noticed a shift in recent years. It appears as though the soap opera is now focusing on a younger generation and this is apparent with the recent story lines. Take into account the fact that Farrah Abraham’s role is that of a hooker and includes a sugar daddy scenario and it is easy to see this isn’t the same “Days of Our Lives” that your parents watched twenty years ago.
Some “Days of Our Lives” fans are appalled at the thought of an adult film star being brought on board. The soap opera has a very active group where fans of the show gather to talk about what is going on in Salem as well as potential storylines. Many of these fans voiced their disgust for the casting decision and are hoping that it is not true.
One interesting fact that fans brought up is that the characters in Farrah Abraham’s audition tape are also names of characters on “One Life to Live.” Destiny and Matthew were recurring character on the show. However, Farrah Abraham’s audition tape uploaded to YouTube clearly states that it was for “Days of Our Lives.”
Another “Days of Our Lives” fan site provided further proof that a sugar daddy story line is in the future, noting that a casting call from earlier this year stated, “Seeking UPSCALE men and women for a special story line. Ages 50’s, 60’s and 70’s ONLY! Any ethnicity. (NOTE: Because of storyline, you can NOT be an actor that has worked recently on “Days of Our Lives!”)”
It is important to note that neither Farrah Abraham nor anyone from ‘Days of Our Lives’ has confirmed the casting news; Only a source who says they are close to production as well as the audition tapes are the only proof.
