If you’re anything like us, you absolutely loved Robert Sean Leonard in “Falling Skies” season 3 as Dr. Kadar, and fortunately, on Thursday, Aug. 29, TVLine shared some good news about his status for season 4.
Going into season 3, we knew that there would be a new character in Dr. Kadar and that he would be a scientist living underground in Charleston. What we didn’t know was how much we would come to like the character and want to see more of him, but that’s exactly what happened. And now fortunately, it has been revealed that “at this early stage,” he’ll be “in at least one episode” of season 4.
That makes sense, given that recent spoilers reveal the new season picks up two weeks after the season 3 finale, and as that ended, Kadar was on the road with the 2nd Mass. The resistance’s plan was to head to Charleston, warn them about the Brazil relocation, and continue moving, fighting the Espheni (just away from Boston and the Volm). Kadar proved to be useful and a good person to have around with his expertise, and since he is clearly now over his “nothing good happens up there” (but still pointing out the bad around every corner, like in his conversation with Lyle in the finale), it would fit that he would continue to stick with the group, especially after that conversation with Tom (Noah Wyle) about Anne and Alexis.
Executive producer Remi Aubuchon told us when we talked to him about the finale shockers, “I think if you look at that last scene between Tom and Kadar, there’s a little hint that Kadar is not completely convinced that this is real, and he doesn’t quite know how to give that news to Tom, but it’s very clear that there’s something a little odd going on here.” Tom may want to keep Kadar around while he tries to figure out what’s going on with Anne and Alexis, plus we’d love to see more scenes between Tom and Kadar after their scenes in season 3 were so good.
Like we touched on earlier, Kadar came a long way from the man he was when we first met him, ordering people out of his lab and refusing to leave. “It seemed natural that Kadar would, as it were, join the group, join the band, and become an integral part of the 2nd Mass in the fight,” the EP told us. “His journey has been really interesting because he started out in the basement, never coming up, never wanted to fight, and suddenly he finds himself in the fray of conflict.” Hopefully we see more of him in season 4 beyond one episode.
“Falling Skies” season 4 will air in the summer of 2014. Are you looking forward to seeing more of Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. Kadar?
