Local physical therapist, David Reavy of React Physical Therapy, has developed a cutting edge group therapeutic exercise program that helps to address the body’s symptoms aiming to rebalance and restore its natural movement. RMx is a group exercise program based on the Reavy Method created by David Reavy himself. This paten-pending approach to physical therapy, includes the basic tenets of the Reavy Method, untraditional exercise, physical therapy to avoid further injury that many occur in traditional fitness classes.
While classes began on October 21, it is advised that everyone goes through an assessment to check to see where the muscular strengths and weaknesses are within the body. Understanding these imbalances, their physical therapists can help create a unique regimen specifically for the individual while working in a group setting. One-on-one sessions are still recommended to keep re-assessing and improving these weaknesses, but these sessions are not about going outside your body’s comfort zone, instead each session focuses on rebalancing the body so it can function better in everyday activities. David Reavy strives for each individual to perform everyday to their optimal level. If injured, the therapist will look at the whole body, just not the injury, which is key to seeing what imbalance in the body caused the injury and what they can do to help realign the body.
David Reavy is not the new kid on the block. He has a list of clients of local, professional athletes in that includes Bears running back Matt Forte and defensive end Corey Wootton, Bulls center Joakim Noah, and Chicago native Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat. He recently has been featured on Self’s Blog on the most important stretch you can do to tone your abs, butt and inner thighs, where everyone wants to tone and slim.
All classes are 60 minutes and facilitated by an Illinois licensed physical therapist. All participants must have pre-scheduled free evaluation performed by onsite physical therapist and be cleared for participation. Classes are limited to 6 people per class to ensure the therapist can customize to participant’s needs. Class participation should be ongoing but is suggested for at minimum three months.
Located in the hot spot, West Loop, these RMx programs are by reservation only
